Los Angeles Lakers guard Jordan Farmar may be out of the lineup for the foreseeable future.
The third-year point guard went down with a knee injury during Friday's 89-87 loss to the Miami Heat. The team announced on Monday that Farmar was examined by two doctors, both of whom agreed that he suffered a torn lateral meniscus and recommended surgery.
The former first-round pick has not officially made a decision.
Farmar, who backs up starting point guard Derek Fisher, is averaging 7.9 points on 40.5 percent shooting this season.
