Orlando Magic center Dwight Howard aims to top himself in this year's contest at All-Star Weekend.

After donning the super hero's cape en route to the Slam Dunk crown last season, Orlando Magic center Dwight Howard will aim to top himself in this year's contest at All-Star Weekend in Phoenix.

Howard, who leads the league in rebounding and blocks, will go up against Rudy Gay of the Memphis Grizzlies and New York Knicks guard Nate Robinson.

Gay was in last year's contest, while Robinson was the 2006 champion.

The fourth dunker will be selected through an online vote by the fans, who can choose between three rookies - Rudy Fernandez of the Portland Trail Blazers, Milwaukee Bucks forward Joe Alexander and Russell Westbrook of the Oklahoma City Thunder.

The last player to defend his dunk title was Jason Richardson - then of the Golden State Warriors - who won in 2002 and 2003.
